Healing Horses, Healing Hearts...
Heartland is a horse farm nestled in the hills of Virginia, but it’s much more than that. Heartland is like no other place – it’s a place where the scars of the past can be healed, a place where frightened and abused horses learn to trust again.

As Áine drove her blue jeep up the sweeping driveway, she looked in her mirror to see how her nervy horse was coping in the trailer. It had taken over an hour to get him in, but the carrots lying at the top of the ramp were too much temptation in the end, and once he was in the box, he was fine. She grinned as she saw him pull at his haynet and shake his head as the loose hay flew into his face. As the jeep rounded the bend Áine saw where her horse would now be staying. She smiled as she saw the fields, with the lush grass and the secure post and rail fencing. Perfect for my little escape artist she recalled once when she had arrived at her temporary yard, and was shocked to find him nowhere to be seen, later on she found him contentedly sleeping in the hay barn. As she pulled into the yard, it all seemed to be pretty quiet. Perfect she thought, as Donnacha always had a reckless few minutes when he first arrived somewhere new. She pulled up near some other trailers, and switched off the car. She hopped out of the car and gazed around for a minute. She briskly walked to the jockey door of her trailer and grinned as she heard a welcoming whinny, and laughed as she saw Donnachas hay-covered face. I wonder where Donnachas stable is... she thought to herself, noticing the farmhouse, she closed the jockey door once more, and jogged over to the door. She knocked on the door and waited.
